YAA

Youth Achievement Awards are a way in which young people can gain a nationally recognised qualification for the activities and interests they are already actively engaged in. They can take part at four levels - Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
Young people choose their own challenges, set their own targets, and are assessed by their peers - although the completed award goes before a regional moderation board to ensure standards nationally. The other important element is that young people have to build a portfolio of evidence to support their challenges - so developing recording and evaluation skills at the same time.
