WAYC are delighted to announce the award of up to £20K from Ecominds, a Lottery funded strand of work administered by the Mind charity. The ‘Green Dreams’ project will start in September 2010 and will provide ecotherapy-style activities in three locations across Warwickshire; The Ingleby Foundation in Nuneaton, The Brandon Marsh Wildlife Centre near Coventry and the WAYC garden in Leamington Spa.
The sessions will be delivered to young people supporting them to engage in a variety of conservation/wildlife themed activities based upon four key principles: natural and social connections; sensory stimulation; activity and escape (from stress).
The project will be about re-awakening minds, raising aspirations and encouraging green dreams.
If you are an individual or organisation that is interested in the future mental well being of young people and wish to refer someone you know to this project, please contact: Mel Scobie on 01926 450156 for more information.
