WAYC Dinner and Auction

We were delighted that the WAYC Dinner and auction held at the Lord Leycester Hospital raised £5526 clear surplus for WAYC.

We were delighted that James Hawkesford was able to run our auction for us this year after the sad death of his father who did it so well the year before. James was humorous and was able to bring the best bids out of people. He raised £2704.50 with some wonderful surprise bidding for the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang signed photos raising £30 and a marathon bidding up price war for the Manchester United signed football which eventually went for £200. All this money will be used for the benefit of local young people.

We were entertained by the choral “Ensemble 1685” who led a fun session of Christmas carols and tunes including a very participative 12 days of Christmas where people were allocated a number from 1 – 12 and then had to stand and sing their part whilst doing an appropriate action. Graham and Margaret Wrights “Two turtle doves” was most romantic.

Our thanks go to all who came and supported the event so generously!

So do book Thursday 16 December 2010 in your diary for the next Dinner and Auction and join us at a fun evening!
