‘Hitting top gear for a worthy cause’

Fiona Tomlinson, WAYC Trustee undertook the challenge to ride from Whitehaven to Tynemouth in support of WAYC and the Alzheimer's Society and did it!!! The funds will be split between the two charities.

The Hadrians Wall C2C cycle ride, Sustran route 72 took Fiona only 3 days! The 161 mile journey took Fiona from Silloth and the Solway Peninsular to Hadrian's Wall to Vindlanda, the Roman Fort along the Tyne River over the Millennium Bridge in Newcastle and then ending in Tynemouth.

There were no punctures, but a number of wrong turnings and oil covered hands when her bike chain kept coming off. Fiona, said “It was an amazing experience, hard at times but worth it, and I am so pleased to have raised £670 for two charities which are important to me"

Thank you Fiona from all at WAYC for your wonderful Fundraiser effort!
