Young Believers

Faiths in Action has funded Coventry and Warwickshire Infrastructure Consortium (CWIC) to develop the Young Believers Project. The project is a collaboration between WAYC, WREP and the CWIC Interfaith Worker and has been developed to bring together young people of diverse faiths in different parts of the county to learn about each other. The four faiths involved in this project are; Christian, Muslim, Hindu and Sikh. The launch event was held on Wednesday 17th February at Bath Place, the young people had the opportunity to get to know each other, engage in fun activities and create a picture of “what there faith means to them” which was then shared with the rest of the group.

During March and April the young people will host events in their own places of worship and share some of their beliefs and customs. The young people will use social informal methods to increase their knowledge and understanding of other faiths and primarily learn from each other. This project is the first of it’s kind in the Coventry and Warwickshire areas and will not only develop a level of understanding between faith groups and young people in the respective areas but will also allow for the two areas, namely Coventry and Warwickshire to develop understanding of one another.
