Welcome to WAYC!

WAYC is a local registered charity (no 1056035), working with young people and our 141 affiliated youth clubs for 60 years. Our qualified youth workers provide expert advice and support to our youth clubs and work directly with young people who are finding life a challenge. We help them to achieve their potential by:

- identifying problems and creating solutions

- being a positive role model and a friendly face

- building skills and self esteem

- supporting their next step to employment or training

Give 60

We are celebrating our 60th anniversary by setting up a fund to provide one to one support and essential items to local young people who need it most. Our ‘Give 60’ campaign aims to raise both money and volunteer support. We are hoping to raise £60,000 through cash and in kind support of volunteer time. Find out more below.

Support an event

Help us to support more young people like:

-Leanne whose mum died when she was 10

- Kev who barely speaks after a childhood in care

- Maria who self-harms because of bullying

- Mandeep who looks after his disabled brother

- Helen who’s been unemployed for two years

SAFE Residential

Our annual report and accounts are in a calendar format, so each month we highlight one of the projects we run. This photo is of our SAFE project, funded by the Big Lottery and match funded by Warwick District Council. This open-access youth project is delivered from the Westbury Centre, and includes a Junior and Senior Youth Club, and one to one mentoring and support for young people. The project works with over 100 young people from the Brunswick Estate. We are currently running a full programme of activities over the summer, including art, cooking, Half Gear, and sports, and a group of young people have designed and run their own project for younger members of the club, which was a project funded by WCVYS. More about the project can be found here:
Participation is always at the forefront of SAFE, and so a steering group of young people help to plan and guide activities, and young volunteers help to deliver sessions. Staff continuously evaluate to ensure that young people's views are heard. More information about the project
